The ladies from Holland
The afternoon kicked off with a cheery welcome at the Tasting Room! We popped open a bottle of bubbly Zardetto Prosecco, with its fizzy charms tickling our senses. After a cheerful toast to friendship, we frolicked through the orchard, sunlight winking playfully through the leaves.
The air was awash with the sweet scent of blossoms as the ladies merrily plucked ripe oranges from the branches. We savored the juicy, zesty fruit, its refreshing bite perfectly matched with the Prosecco’s sparkle. It was a delightful start to our afternoon, celebrating the fun and simple joys of Cyprus!
Returning to the tasting room, we embarked on a sensory exploration of the world of Cypriot wines.
We kicked things off with a fun taste test of Xinisteri, Cyprus’s superstar white grape. Then, we dove into the delightful world of Cyprus’s own grapes and some globetrotting beauties! We swirled and sipped on Maratheftiko, a robust red that dances with earthy goodness, Plus, fancy internationals like Cabernet Franc, who are soaking up the Cypriot sunshine with flair!
To enhance the sensory exploration experience, we paired the wines with a selection of delectable small bites.
A Toast to Friendship and New Memories
As the sun set, we toasted with a glass of Commandaria, the delightful sweet dessert wine known for its charm. Its warm amber sparkle and mix of dried fruits and spices were a perfect end to our wine adventure. The lovely ladies from Holland left the tasting room not only with a love for Cypriot wines but also with joyful memories. The afternoon became a playful fiesta of friendship and happiness, all while sharing a lovely glass of wine.
