Question on Chloraka Hotel bus route and one more

We are arriving in Paphos tomorrow evening and planning to attend a Halloumi Masterclass on Friday. We have a few questions in advance: is there public transportation available from Chloraka to your location? Additionally, Is it possible to cook a vegetarian version?

Answer on Chloraka hotel Public Transportation

Yes to public transportation,

there are bus routes that run between Chloraka Hotels and Paphos. Great to hear that you would like to join the Halloumi cheese workshop this weekend! Please note there is no bus service on Sundays. For the rest of the days the morning experience starting at 10 am would be falling between the bus rides.

You can take a bus from your hotel to the central Paphos bus station and then catch ROUTE 609 that goes to Episkopi, Paphos. Once you reach the village, I will pick you up and take you down to the Tasting Room. I recommend checking the bus schedules and routes beforehand to plan your journey accordingly. Buses or shuttles might be available, although their frequency and routes may vary. The hotel staff should provide you with the most up-to-date information.

Furthermore,

Taxis are a great option. You can easily find them throughout the city, and your hotel front desk can conveniently book one for you. Just make sure to confirm the cost upfront and ensure the driver is using the taximeter. It’s also worth noting that a minivan may not be necessary for groups of up to 4 travelers.
While Uber isn’t available in Paphos or Cyprus, you can use other popular taxi apps like CABCY or Bolt to make your trip planning even easier. These apps provide fare quotes and estimated arrival times before booking, making transportation arrangements a breeze.
You can rely on Daphne Taxis. They know the area well and can take you straight to the Tasting Room.

The Tasting Room is located in the village of Episkopi Paphos, so getting here from Chloraka  should be relatively easy,  you can follow this convenient route. Start by heading east on Poseidonos Avenue and continue straight until you reach the second roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Konia Road. Continue along this road for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach the village of Episkopi. You can rent a car and drive yourselves directly to our workshop location. This will provide you with the convenience and flexibility of traveling at your preferred time. The hotel concierge should be able to assist you in arranging transportation. You can use the route planer to get here easily!

About the vegetarian inquiry,

I have some super exciting news for you! I bet you didn’t know that Halloumi cheese is an excellent choice for all you lovely vegetarians out there! Yep, you heard it right! Unlike many other cheeses out there, it’s made using vegetable rennet, which is perfect for those who follow a vegetarian diet!
In our upcoming masterclass, we’ll be talking about the coagulation process in cheesemaking, which involves rennet. It’s worth noting that ‘traditional’ rennet is derived from the young mammal stomach lining, which doesn’t make it suitable for vegetarians. With vegetarian rennet sourced from plant-based components, we can ensure that our Halloumi cheese is 100% vegetarian!
While PDO Halloumi manufacturers generally use vegetable rennet, we recommend checking product labels if you’re looking for something specific. But don’t worry, I always check with manufacturers to make sure that all the Halloumi cheese in my experiences aligns with PDO requirements.

Overall,

Get ready to be inspired by the world of halloumi cheese! This workshop promises to be a truly exciting and educational experience for your group, providing you with a unique opportunity to learn from a veteran cheesemonger about the art of crafting PDO halloumi cheese. Discover the diverse uses of halloumi in various dishes and savor the mouth-watering flavors of different varieties of this delicious cheese.

Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to immerse yourselves in the world of cheese and broaden your culinary horizons. Let me guide you through a cheese-tasting adventure that you won’t forget.

Host an in-office wine tasting event

In-Office Wine Tasting Events

An in-office tasting event typically features an introduction to tasting techniques, followed by a tasting of five wines, with the ‘flavor tasting kit’ that includes sweet, salty, bitter, and acidic nibbles, along with crusts for calibration of your palette. The session lasts 1.5 to 2 hours and focuses on a guided, interactive, and enjoyable sensory experience, tailored to your needs!

A broad idea of how an event works is as follows:

  • Welcome drink
  • Short introduction from your host explaining how the evening will work.
  • Introduction to wine tasting technique (with wine of course!).
  • Putting our new knowledge to practice by sampling a number of other wines, we generally think five is a good number, but we can do more or fewer!
  • Your sommelier host rounds off the event, awarding prizes to any winners if a competitive element is included (generally the less knowledge people have the more likely they are to win!).
  • Guests continue with informal drinks/food as agreed with client.

Set-up & Tidy-up

We usually arrive a couple of hours before a corporate event start time to unload our equipment, set up the room and make sure we have met the client and understand any last-minute requirements. We clear away everything we have brought at the end of the event, and are usually out of the building within an hour or so. We can of course provide additional wine for pre- or post-event drinks.
