My story begins on the stunning island of Cyprus, in the lovely town of Limassol. To me, family is everything, and I’m super lucky to have an amazing wife and two awesome teens, Andreas (almost 20!) and Demetra (18).
I’ve got a real passion for learning that took me through the United World Colleges (AC90) and into the world of Business Marketing. From running a busy restaurant to being a hands-on trainer –I’ve done it all. But what I really love most is crafting memorable experiences for my guests. It just makes my heart happy to leave a lasting impression, like a great wine that gives you a nice aftertaste.
It’s not just about pouring wine; it’s about sharing the joy of tasting.
I’ve committed myself to making every tasting something special. Always striving to improve, but it’s my friendly vibe that really makes me stand out. My goal is to make each experience better than the last, leaving my guests feeling inspired and cheerful.
I’ve always had a soft spot for hospitality and it’s been my career path for quite some time. I’ve immersed myself in the world of gourmet food and fine wines for years now. Building connections with producers both here on the island and in other places has been an incredible journey. It all kicked off in 1996 when I started bringing in European delicacies and fine wines, which fueled my passion for gourmet goodies and inspired my travels across Italy, France, and Greece.
As a certified Sommelier with a Professional Sommelier Diploma from ASI (2006) and one of the founding members of the Cyprus Sommelier Association, I’ve made a name for myself in the wine scene. I love championing Cypriot Wines and Viniculture, and I work closely with the Cyprus Wineries Association and the Cyprus wine consortium: WINECORE. My experience extends to consulting for restaurants, wine shops, and wineries, and I really enjoy putting together wine events for fellow enthusiasts.

Cyprus has a long history in wine making. As a matter of fact, archaeological discoveries have shown that wine was produced on the island about 5,500 years ago, putting Cyprus on the map as the oldest wine producing country in the Mediterranean. Nowadays the industry is radically changing. Updated modern winemaking techniques and practises being introduced and more work done in the vineyards by well equipped young professional wine makers. As one of them stated a few years ago:
‘Cyprus produces New World wines on Ancient World soil!’
Last time I checked there were 106 registered wineries on the island, of which some are active and some not. Some accept guests and some don’t and only 54 of them are exposed in the retail market. Very easy to get lost and misled unless you have some inside information from someone who is constantly visiting the wineries and their vineyards and can open a few back doors.
