Yerambellos is the toponymy of the vineyard in Cypriot dialect. Γερ-αμπελος < γέρος (old) / ιερος (sacred)+ -άμπελος (vineyard)
Strolling among the vines on the softly sloping land surrounded by the hills of the wonderful Diarizos Valley, is a great experience any time of the day, any time of the year. But a degustation en vignes at dusk is just sublime. Followed by a guided tour to the art studio and gallery, by the artist himself this tour is a lot more than a splendid wine adventure.
What does an acclaimed glass artist and a retired corporate lawyer have in common? A lot more other than the fact that they both think yours truly is a cool dude, but most importantly, a passion for their vineyard. They will tell you all about it as we will arrive on time to meet up with the vignerons and be introduced to their wine and life philosophy! Then you can sip the wine while enjoying the most awesome sunset in the vineyard!

in 2017 renowned glass artist Yorgos Papadopoulos moved his studio to Kedares. He found the lands his father was no longer able to tend. The olive grove, the orchard and the vineyard were all in such a derelict state that many considered it impossible to bring them back to life. Yorgos and his partner took on the daunting task and they won against all odds. Today they have the most desirable vineyard in the village, they are turning the orchard into an organic food forest and the olive oil they produce is out of this world!
The vineyard is planted entirely with plants of the Cinsault grape variety. The grapes are hand picked from this unique, 40 year old, southwest facing and unirrigated vineyard with bush vines. It yields approximately 4 tons (that is 15 hl per hectare).
The result is an elegant fruity dry red, single vineyard wine, with floral aromas and a medium body.
Yerambellos has the ambition of becoming a unique vineyard. The plants that didn’t make it through the 15 years of neglect, drought and rampant weeds, are being replaced with newly propagated vines. The dry walls supporting the sloped land have been restored. In due course Yerambellos will turn into an Art Park where it is ravishing to sojourn.
