The event begins with a wine tasting experience followed by a matching set lunch menu.
During the wine tasting experience, a short presentation of the wines is given, along with an introduction to Cypriot wine culture with a reference to Commandaria, the world’s oldest appellation wine which is still in production.
The wines available for tasting include Xynisteri from Hadjicharalambous Winery in Koilani, Mavro Mouklos from Tsiakkas Winery in Pelentri, Ophthalmo from Nelion Winery in Pretori, and Commandaria Base-Wine as well as Commandaria PDO.
The matching lunch menu is a set of 9 signature dishes served as a 4-course meal, carefully selected to provide the desired harmony with the wines served. The wines that accompany each dish are Eddiel Sparkling from Vlassides Winery during the Welcome, Xynisteri from Hadjicharalambous Winery in Koilani for the cold starters, Mavro Mouklos from Tsiakkas Winery in Pelentri for the hot starters, Ophthalmo from Nelion Winery in Pretori for the main dishes, and Commandaria PDO for dessert.
